Combining the striking architectural geometry of the Staatstheater and the funky paths created by bork beetles eating their way through trees: The Operator is a site-specific video artwork. Working with the surrounding geometry, the artist combines it with natural elements, creating a symbioses of the natural lifeforms in forest habitats and the controlled human-made present day world, playing on the notion of the Anthropocene.
