An Executive Board and an Advisory Board were established in 2019 to support and implement Karlsruhe’s application process to be nominated a UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts and to formulate and oversee the four-year action plan. The Executive Board of the UNESCO City of Media Arts is the body for strategy and steering the development as a city of media arts and it also advises the UNESCO Creative City of Media Arts office on specialist issues.
The Executive Board meets at least four times a year. The board consists of representatives from municipal corporations in the arts and culture sector and from departments of the City of Karlsruhe. The chairperson of the Executive Board is Dominika Szope, Head of the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Karlsruhe.
