Pyramide für morgen, 2026

VOLNA
Pyramide für morgen, Norina Quinte und Andreas Hölldorfer (ato) mit VOLNA, Visualisierung, 2026

[Pyramide for tomorrow]

The media art installation is a 1:1 replica of the Karlsruhe Pyramid designed by the city architect Weinbrenner in 1823 – on the outside, a white, almost empty structure in the urban landscape. Whilst the original reflects the past, this installation looks to the future; its inscription reads: “In memory of our future.”

Inside, the installation becomes accessible: visitors can immerse themselves in the video game The Power of Two by the artist collective VOLNA. Here, individual decisions lead to different possible worlds: overheated, frozen or in balance. It is not about winning, but about the power of one’s own choice.

The work by Norina Quinte, Andreas Hölldorfer (ato) and VOLNA asks no simple questions and offers no simple answers. It invites visitors to understand the future not as fate, but as the result of decisions being made right now.
