Open Call: Viborg UNESCO Creative City Artist Residency Program

15. December 2023 — 05. January 2024

Exploring the boundaries of digital art – this is the focus of Creative City of Media Arts Viborg’s call for participation in its Artist Residency Program. The program, which is open to all artists in the Creative Cities of Media Arts, offers a unique opportunity to create digital art prototypes that will then be made accessible to the public in Viborg.

As part of the UCCN’s Artist Residency Program, Viborg invites artists from all Creative Cities to develop digital art projects for publicly accessible spaces in Viborg. The projects can be realized both indoors and outdoors. Potential locations include libraries and parks, but also parking lots, supermarkets and similar places.

Organized by PLASTIC Collective and The Animation Workshop – VIA University College (TAW), the program provides accommodation, financial support, travel assistance, consultancy, a dedicated workspace and potential VFX assistants. In addition, the program allows you to explore different areas of digital art such as animation, video mapping, apps, games and XR fields, engage in dialogue with other artists from Viborg and Denmark as well as gain access to an exclusive network of international creative cities.

The objective of the Viborg UNESCO Creative City Artist Residency Program is to develop and produce a digital art prototype accessible to the general public in public spaces.. Building on this, the realized projects should have the potential to tour other UNESCO Media Arts Cities.
