The ongoing project Radical Climate Action Bird explores how communication between humans and animals can have political impact. At its core is the song of native songbirds. Together with experts in ornithology, bioacoustics, audio design, and artificial intelligence, the artist develops sound installations that translate melodies of antifascist protest songs into artificial bird calls.

By broadcasting these synthetic bird songs in public spaces, the installation encourages the local birds to mimic the melodies of the protest songs and gradually integrate them into their natural vocal repertoire. The common blackbird, known for its learning ability, is especially likely to quickly adopt these new songs and become a voice of resistance.

In this way, Siering’s work raises important questions about the interaction between human and non-human life forms and the deep interconnections between technology and nature. At the same time, the installation is a critical reflection on the growing resurgence of nationalist and neo-fascist ideas.
