Posteden or how to explain from hominization to posthumanism to a virtual hare is an augmented reality (AR) app, which people can experience in the meadow orchard cared for by the staff of the ZKM | Karlsruhe and in Nymphengarten Park through the camera of their smartphones with the aid of GPS data. What you can discover there with the app are 3D models, animations, sounds, and videos. The central motif is the apple: Posteden explores the varied cultural and historical symbolism of the apple, and examines the past and present influence of these social worlds of the imagination. As a metaphor for various aspects of human desire, the apple influenced social behavior and thus also subjective perception. Although the apple has been interpreted differently and integrated into tales in various epochs and cultures, it always points to the desires of those who wish to eat it and who impart meaning to it.

Download the PostedenAR app to your mobile device from the App Store or Google Play and follow these instructions: Press “Enter” and choose between the two locations. The closest AR content is located where the white square is marked “AR”. To start, access to the camera and location of your device must be given. Approach the AR elements to learn more about them. For the best experience, use headphones.
