On the occasion of the conferring of the UNESCO title “Creative City of Media Arts” to the city of Karlsruhe and its inclusion in the global UNESCO network, the Karlsruhe light artist Rainer Kehres created a large-scale installation especially for the facade of Karlsruhe City Hall.

The 99 globes installed in a matrix, which could be controlled individually, also shone with recurring light shows and messages from the city hall balcony into the city and the whole world.
