FLORA MOMENTUM, 2025

FLORA MOMENTUM is an interdisciplinary art installation in public space that poetically connects nature, technology, and urban design. At its heart are the lenticular images Postbotanical Proliferations—artificially created healing plants developed with the help of artificial intelligence, inspired by plants like turmeric, ginkgo, and garlic. These hybrid plants change their appearance depending on the viewing angle, revealing new, sometimes strange organic forms.

The installation invites us to rethink the city as a place of healing, reflection, and community. At the same time, FLORA MOMENTUM serves an urban planning purpose: the artwork helps make the connection between Südliche Waldstraße, Stephanplatz, and Ludwigsplatz more visible and enhances the public space both visually and atmospherically. With inclusive integrated seating, the installation also offers a place to linger and rest.

As part of the Sustainable Cities and Town Centres programme funded by the Federal Ministry of Housing, Urban Development and Construction, Stephanplatz has been reactivated since May 2025. The initiative is part of the municipality’s City Transformation project.
