[2 areas in motion, 50 km/h, walking pace]
Two sites shaped by military history, one walk, one drive: the project offers a performative experience of the Alte Flugplatz and the Kriegsstraße in Karlsruhe.
between walking pace and 50 km/h
between regeneration and acceleration.
Today a nature reserve and recreational area, the Alte Flugplatz was long a military site. The Kriegsstraße, as a central traffic artery, is defined by noise and speed. Drawing on their histories, the project opens a discussion about landscape, civilian conversion, and security politics.
Moving and listening collectively becomes a political practice: What futures are imaginable? Who is speaking? Where does military use inscribe itself into the city?
The performative formats, a walk at the Alte Flugplatz and a drive along the Kriegsstraße, take place on 13, 14, and 16 August. Their traces remain accessible afterwards as a tactical map and as video documentation.
