For the 31st time, the PRIDE PICTURES Queer Film Festival invites you to discover the diversity of queer film culture in Karlsruhe. Thirteen feature films, three documentaries and three unique short film programmes will be shown on the screens of the Kinemathek Karlsruhe and the Schauburg Filmtheater Karlsruhe, offering a sparkling diamond of queer film culture for every taste.
The PRIDE PICTURES festival week begins on Saturday, October 19 from 10 pm with a brilliant party night in the Alte Hackerei. Three DJs will provide the atmosphere on two floors. On October 23 the Junge Staatstheater will be hosting a panel discussion with top-class speakers on the topic of ‘Queer across generations – bridges between identity and activism’. The evening promises in-depth insights into the development and transformation of queer identities and the associated activism over time.
There will be two matinée events on the closing weekend and, as a special highlight, the PRIDE PICTURES PRISM, the City of Media Arts Queer Short Film Award for the best queer short film, will be presented for the first time. The award will be presented by the jury members on Sunday, October 27 at the end of the festival.
