The International Day against Racism is celebrated annually on March 21 and was proclaimed by the United Nations in 1966. Since 2013, the International Weeks against Racism have also been held in Karlsruhe to mark this day. Every year, over 40 associations, initiatives and organisations as well as individuals from all areas of Karlsruhe participate.

The common goal is to create awareness of the need to combat racism and to raise awareness and mobilise people in Karlsruhe for the future. The Karlsruhe Weeks against Racism and Discrimination help to achieve this goal.

This years motto is Human rights for all. Panel discussions, lectures, readings, concerts and performances invite citizens to take a critical look at racism and discrimination from March 6 onwards. The events will take place at various locations throughout the city.

Every person can play their part in shaping a society based on humanity and solidarity. It is essential to stand together against racism and all forms of discrimination and to promote an inclusive community.
