KTG Karlsruhe Tourismus GmbH is a subsidiary of the City of Karlsruhe. Its main mandate is to market Karlsruhe as an attractive tourist destination for overnight visitors, day trippers and business travelers on the (inter)national market.
KTG is turning its centrally located site right on Karlsruhe’s old market square into a digital showcase for the city, thereby creating one of the most modern tourist information offices in Germany.
With the help of a virtual assistant, visitors can compile their own digital profile able to intuitively save information and experiences. Animated projections at the Interactive Table encourage visitors to explore, while an LED wall invites them to engage in a motion tracking game. The city’s fans and local residents alike have their say in sound showers or express wishes which drone videos then turn into a palpable 360° experience. Every visitor can immortalize his or her experiences on the Social Wall, whereby they become part of the Karlsruhe furniture, in every sense of the word.
