Thousands of tiny mirrors dance in the wind, transforming light into movement: Fragments of Reality plays with the contrasts of day and night, nature and city. The mirrors reflect both sunlight and the artificial lights of the city, enveloping the historic façade of GALERIA in a fragile, almost magical atmosphere – somewhere between visibility and invisibility.

The mirrors’ chaotic motion creates abstract patterns of light that seem to pass through the space – fleeting, poetic, and surreal. The three-dimensional structure echoes the radial layout of
Karlsruhe and references the pyramid on the central square.

Alessandro Lupi’s work is based on three core principles:
Sustainability: No electricity, reusable materials, and accessible around the clock.
Rhythm of Nature: The effect changes with light, wind, and time of day.
Perspective: Reflections as a playful dialogue between reality and illusion.
