Marie Sester (*1955) is a French media artist who lives and works in Los Angeles. Sester first studied architecture in Strasbourg before her interest shifted from built structures to the question of how architecture and ideology influence our understanding of the world. She examines ideological frameworks within politics, culture, and technology and questions how they determine our lives in her works, which have been exhibited at the Gwangju Biennale (1997), Ars Electronica (2003), and the Singapore Biennale (2008), among others. Sester’s works have repeatedly featured in exhibitions at ZKM | Karlsruhe.
