The artist collaboration IRIS-A-MAZ consists of Iris Holstein and Matthias Hederer. They met while studying at HfG Karlsruhe in Ulay’s class. Since 2001, they have been working together on spatial installations, primarily using video, photography, and performance.
The duo engages with topics at the intersection of the history and critique of science. They reflect on scientific methods within their societal context, sometimes applying them directly. In their work, realities and fictions often overlap.
