Benjamin Jantzen (*1979) is a media and digital artist from Mannheim. His work spans glitch aesthetics, projections, and interactive visual worlds. In his pieces, he combines digital and analog techniques and plays with the interplay of control and chance. In this context, he has been intensively exploring the possibilities of image-generating AIs since 2002, pushing their potential to new limits. Jantzen is also the initiator and festival director of B-Seite, the festival for visual arts and contemporary culture, as well as LAB in Mannheim, a theatre for contemporary dance and digital art. Together with Güldeste Mamaç, he creates sensuous, surreal experiences that merge education, activism, and aesthetics.
