What did oranges hear?

26. September 2025

The acoustic property is an invisible yet essential part of every architecture. It shapes perception, forms experiences, and carries historical and cultural memories.

The question What did oranges hear? serves as a starting point to make spaces sonically tangible—through sound installations, acoustic walks, and sound performances that unfold fully within the unique acoustics of the space.

As part of Room to Grow by the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, on the occasion of the reopening of the Orangerie, the association Digitale Kunstfabrik e.V., in collaboration with TOPLAP Karlsruhe and the Staatliche Kunsthalle Karlsruhe, is hosting a Day of Listening in the Rotunda of the Orangerie.
