(How) does society understand itself today?
Symposium of the Karlsruhe Forum for Culture, Law and Technology
Does society understand itself today? And if so, in what way? How important is language, which and how much language do we need to communicate and understand each other so that social cohesion is not lost between technical jargon, group jargon, digital communication and linguistic provocation?
The all-day symposium is also dedicated to freedom of expression and freedom of the press, the question of how comprehensible jurisdiction must be, what power language has when terms escalate, fake news is not recognised, when machines become interlocutors or when communication becomes more appreciative again.
You are cordially invited to a day of listening, thinking, and speaking—for a language that connects us.
