With corner, science comes to you! Right into the heart of the city – to citizens who are curious and want to talk, engage, and participate in research.
The aim of corner is to spark conversations about topics related to city life and society, encouraging questions and answers. Scientific research projects are brought directly to citizens through exhibitions, discussion rounds, participatory activities, and a wealth of information that provides the foundation for an exchange on equal terms. Science without citizen involvement is not conceivable. Research is therefore conducted together, with the goal of exploring how the shared future of the city can be shaped.
corner will be presented and opened for the first time during the KIT Science Week as part of the Karlsruhe City Festival. From October 10 to November 15, corner will be located at Kronenplatz and open to all Karlsruhe residents. On-site, the program How Do We Live? Now / in the Future / Together / in the City offers an exhibition on the EU research project PREFIGURE, the video installation WE DON’T HAVE CHERRIES, as well as participatory activities, lectures, and other events. Citizens are welcome to drop by at any time, and visualize their ideas for future urban living through creative activities.
Opening hours at Kronenplatz:
