In 2026, Karlsruhe’s digital community will focus on the theme of “Digital Sovereignty”.

What digital topics are currently being researched at Karlsruhe’s universities and research institutions? How are trustworthy technologies developed? How digital is our public administration? What ideas are start-ups, companies, and creative minds in Karlsruhe pursuing? And how can citizens experience, explore, and help shape digitalization themselves?

The Bunte Nacht der Digitalisierung (Colorful Night of Digitalization) is Karlsruhe’s city-wide festival for digital ideas, technologies, and innovation, making digitalization visible and tangible in all its facets.

The theme of “Digital Sovereignty” focuses on the question of how we can develop and use digital technologies in a secure, responsible, and self-determined way.

On June 19, Karlsruhe’s digital ecosystem once again invites everyone to explore these questions together through workshops, panel discussions, hands-on activities, company events, guided tours, pitches, exhibitions, and many other formats across the city.

New this year is a dedicated Games Track at FUX in the Alter Schlachthof creative district, featuring games, creative technologies, and digital culture.
