Ausgeschlachtet! 2026 – open doors at Alter Schlachthof

10. May 2026

The Alter Schlachthof Creative Park in Karlsruhe is hosting an open day on Sunday, 10.05.2026

Ahead of the grand celebrations marking the 20th anniversary of the Alter Schlachthof Creative Park with a Culture Night in 2027, the site in the east of the ‘fan-shaped city’ – which has been at the forefront of Karlsruhe’s urban development for almost two decades – is opening its doors once again for an open day. Although conditions in recent years have been far from easy for those working in the creative sector – given global crises, wars, a pandemic, climate change and its economic repercussions, rising energy costs and rents, as well as cuts to cultural funding – the site and its stakeholders continue to meet these challenges with creative solutions. Alongside studio visits, there are numerous hands-on activities and plenty of new things to discover!

The programme for Ausgeschlachtet! 2026 is aimed at all generations and ranges from children’s concerts and haunted theatre to poetry slams and guided tours of the Old Slaughterhouse. You may discover are shoemaking workshops, percussion concerts, a glimpse behind the scenes of the film world, ideas for eco-friendly building and renovation, opportunities to print your own T-shirt, and much more.

Art and culture can be found at every turn, presented by the numerous artists on the site both indoors and outdoors.
