For several years now, the Algorave label has been used to organize parties and events around the world that focus on algorithmically generated music. On Friday, July 26, co-founder of the Algorave Alex McLean comes to Karlsruhe for an exciting evening full of electronic sounds, live coding and danceable beats. From TidalCycles to SuperCollider, Hydra or 1-bit Shader, Minimal Techno to IDM, Strudel, and the latest KabelSalat — there’s a lot to experience!

Location
Rudolf Fünf, Rudolfstraße 5, 76131 Karlsruhe
Start
7 p.m. in the courtyard. By 9 p.m., we’ll move to the basement for more intensity.
On Saturday, July 27, Alex McLean will host a beginner-friendly workshop on algorithmic patterns at ßpace (Fritz-Erler-Str. 7, 76133 Karlsruhe), drawing inspiration from geometric South Indian rhythms. We’ll begin at 1 p.m. with strudel (the food) and coffee to recover from the Algorave, and continue together from 2 to 5 p.m. to explore the realm of beats and patterns using Strudel (the programming language, https://strudel.cc) in the browser. Please bring your laptops and headphones! Limited spots available, register at info@toplap-ka.de.
The event is supported by the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Karlsruhe in cooperation with UNESCO City of Media Arts Karlsruhe.
