In the light of the changes brought about by new technologies, independent minds are more in demand than ever—which is why Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design (HfG) offers its students a unique scope and freedom to engage in self-guided learning, research and development, and thus to learn to deal independently with a complex reality. Courses of study at the HfG are organized on an interdisciplinary basis, with links between the Communication Design, Product Design, Media Arts, Exhibition Design & Scenography, as well as Art Theory & Media Philosophy programs.
New media, especially, play a key role, given their far-reaching impact on politics and society. A degree in media arts not only gives students exceptional artistic training but also enables them to participate in shaping the media arts of the future. Karlsruhe University of Arts and Design has a partnership with one of the world’s most innovative exhibition facilities, the ZKM.
