The Institute for Information Management in Engineering (IMI) at Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) is involved in research and development in the fields of virtual, augmented and mixed reality (VR/AR/MR). The Institute’s “Industry 4.0 Collaboration Lab” is a teaching, demonstration and research space in which realistic processes and applications can be simulated.
On the Advisory Board, the IMI is the interface between scientific visualization and digital media communication (for example VR, AR, MR). In terms of content, we will establish a logical connection between our expertise and other organizations in UNESCO Cities of Media Arts. The focus will be on the use of digital media for education and qualification purposes.
