What do you do when a project needs to launch quickly, funding is within reach, or committed people want to join forces spontaneously?
This workshop shows how an idea becomes a structure capable of taking action: from a loose collective to a registered association. Drawing on practical experience from cultural work, we’ll discuss opportunities, pitfalls, and pragmatic ways to set up volunteer work and organization—ideally without time pressure. For anyone who prefers doing over waiting, without stumbling over association law along the way.
Valentin Leuschel is an artist, production manager, and co-author of audio descriptions for dance and theatre. His artistic work focuses primarily on text, body, and movement; associative networks that question their historicity in the German-speaking world. Valentin Leuschel co-founded Fläche e. V. and served as its chairman until 2025—an association responsible for PRISMA, a temporary cultural use project in the former Schwaben Bräu Passage in Stuttgart-Bad Cannstatt.
