SangDoo Nam, born in 1985 in Seoul, South Korea, is an artist based in Karlsruhe. He studied Fine
Art with a focus on painting and graphic arts at the Staatliche Akademie der Bildenden Künste
Karlsruhe and was a master student of Marijke Van Warmerdam.
His projects include the solo exhibition Coin without thickness in Aither, Busan (South Korea,
2025), as well as how to protest in quarantine at Künstlerhaus Sootbörn, Hamburg (2021). Further
works include ABC home shopping at Fan de Nagoya (Japan, 2021) and participation in the group
exhibition Academy POSITIONS 2021 in Berlin.
After completing his studies, Nam has increasingly developed his artistic practice towards art in
public space, combining printmaking techniques, architectural approaches, and digital methods such
as programming (Python).
