Type Techno is back for its third edition! Following two successful events in the series, it’s time for number three at the Arbeitskreis Kultur und Kommunikation (AKK) on 26.06.2026:
The event appeals to a broad and diverse audience drawn from both club culture and the live-coding scene. Both fields bring their own aesthetic practices and event formats to the table, but have so far existed largely side by side without much connection: Club culture thrives on DJ sets and live acts that make their impact on the dance floor; live coding, on the other hand, focuses on laptop performances and sound experiments in which music is generated in real time by writing program code, making the creative process visible.
Type Techno 3.0 creates a space where both formats take place on a shared stage and before a shared audience, fostering a cultural exchange that goes beyond a mere coexistence. Visitors experience just how permeable the boundaries between algorithmic sound generation and club culture are. Especially in Karlsruhe – with its strong tradition in digital art and media technology on the one hand, and a vibrant club scene that often struggles for visibility on the other.
