On February 21, 2025, Karlsruhe will become a living mosaic of art, encounters, and inspiration. As part of art karlsruhe, Kunstrauschen opens the doors to nearly 20 off-spaces and project spaces across the city. The Long Night of Project Spaces invites visitors to explore, free of charge, a vibrant art scene that thrives far beyond established institutions. From 6 p.m. to 11 p.m., Karlsruhe transforms into a city-wide network of discovery, where contemporary art reveals itself in all its richness and diversity.
From intimate backyard workshops to private apartments, professional studios, and repurposed industrial spaces, each participating venue reflects the creativity that shapes Karlsruhe’s cultural landscape. Together, they form a unique platform that celebrates experimental works, self-determined processes, and bold perspectives—offering visitors a rare glimpse into the city’s independent art scene.
Kunstrauschen is more than just an evening of open doors, it is a dialogue, an invitation to engage with art that charts its own course. At its heart lies encounter: with artists, with artworks, and with fellow visitors. The diversity of spaces—from hidden cellars to vibrant workshop hubs—underscores how alive and unpredictable art can be. A free shuttle bus connects all locations, making it easy for visitors to immerse themselves in the full experience.
The event is organizedby the Department of Cultural Affairs of the City of Karlsruhe and the UNESCO City of Media Arts Karlsruhe Office, in collaboration with the project spaces, and supported by karlsruhe and Hirsch Reisen GmbH.
