The SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE 2020 will take place from August 5 to September 13, 2020. Once again, the facade of Karlsruhe Palace will be illuminated by breathtaking projections and become the largest digital work of art in Europe.

The SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe are a festival for projection mapping. Projection Mapping is a form of media art in which individually adapted video projections are screened onto an object. International artists develop 3D video mappings, which are projected onto the façade of Karlsruhe Palace – every evening for several weeks. The result is one of the largest audiovisual digital artworks in Europe.

The program changes regularly and there are always several shows on one evening. The SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE Karlsruhe took place for the first time in 2015 on the occasion of the 300th anniversary of the city and thrilled the audience. Since then they have been held every summer. More than one million visitors have already come to the SCHLOSSLICHTSPIELE at Karlsruhe Palace.
